Virtual Properties View
Virtual Properties allow you to group similar properties together as a single logical name. Virtual properties are used primarily for Inventory Allocation. Future versions will support virtual properties in other areas.
The Virtual Properties subview of the Active Directory view includes two subviews: New Virtual Property and View Virtual Properties.
New Virtual Property
The New Virtual Property subview includes the following properties:

| Virtual Property Name | Specify a logical name that will represent the properties specified in the current property list. |
| Property Source | Identify the Active Directory property from where to extract its values. Select one of the following values: Active Directory User Property Select this option to extract values from an Active Directory user property. If you select this option, you are prompted to select properties by using the arrow keys to move them from the Available to the Current list. User Organizational Unit Select this option to extract values from a User Organizational Unit. When you select this option, a tree view of Organizational Units will be displayed in the Available area. Click and drag to move properties from the tree to the Current list. Computer Organizational Unit Select this option to extract values from a Computer Organizational Unit. When you select this option, a tree view of Organizational Units will be displayed in the Available area. Click and drag to move properties from the tree to the Current list. |
View Virtual Properties
All virtual properties are listed on the View Virtual Properties subview.
To edit an existing virtual property, double-click on it. A view similar to the New Virtual Property view opens, where you perform edits.
